White Pumpkins

8"x10"
acrylic on canvas
$125

Here is my painting for this weeks photo from "Different Strokes For Different Folks"

OK, so these things were NOT easy. I had a hard time w/ the shadow coloring on the pumpkin itself. So, what I ended up doing was painting, covering that, painting it again, covering that up, over and over. Finally I just dragged a dry brush w/ some white over the whole pumpkin part and there ya go!! I do not like that, I wanted them to look very realistic. I didn't get that effect at all, but from far away, I like them. Like from the other side of the room, a dark room...LOL

Hey, I painted and that's all that matters. And I'm posting a copy of my painting. I'm almost happy...

M.A., the exorcism almost worked!!!!!LOL

Muy bueno PS - and I am REALLY digging that different strokes blog. Once again - very cool. I just think the world of you and I hope you know that. You are truly a very special and talented person. You bring inspiration in ways you probably can never fathom. All the biggest hugs to you.

Hey Pegi Sue, I can see that you spent a lot of time of those pumpkins...and they do look realistic!

I also saw your comments on Mark Adams blog on Caymus... It's fantastic to know that you supplied him the reference for that fantastic painting and that it has touched so many people very deeply.

Alice, I'll try putting a link on here to Bonaire Talk. That is where everyone is at right now that know Jerry & Caymus. I've been getting phone calls!!! I'm so glad that I was able to send Mark the picture and he painted it, and now Jerry gets it!! Oh, life is good!!:)

Thank you for the compliment on the painting. They certainly don't look like I wanted them to, but that's life!! Mark is the one that got me painting again. I was so down, like he got for a few days...
I'm so glad that you got the painting of JJ. It's beautiful!!:)

Your Awesome Pegi Sue! I'm happy to know that Jerry will get that painting. I just looked over your work and you have super talent! I know how hard it is to do anything when your depressed. Just checking the mailbox or washing the dishes can seem monumental... let alone trying to paint and be creative. I'm gonna keep trying to do these DSFDF challenges as an exercise to keep the paint flowing. I want you to keep painting too!

Alice, yeah, Mark got me hooked up w/ DSFDF, and it's helping. I have actually been painting everyday since I started the pumpkins!!
OMG!! You can't believe what it does for me to have YOU say that about my painting!!! THANK YOU!!!:)
